Support of Socially vulnerable yuth

In 2014, the Independent Generation of Kazakhstan (IGK) YCO in cooperation with ‘Tengizchevroil’ LLP completed the implementation of the ‘New Life’ project which included two areas: promoting the ‘Adopting parents’ project and post residential support of orphans and children left without parental care. The aim of the project was the development of a family set-up and socialization of orphans and children left without parental care. Directors, educators, teachers, pupils from orphan asylum named after S. Kazybaev, House of Youth and Children's Family Type Village were involved in the project.

Specialists performed 618 hours of intense work to achieve the objectives of the project. Two manuals for each area of the project were issued. The main result has been improving communication skills, socialization, desire and ability to work in a team. Participants of the project, pupils of House of Youth and regional orphan asylum could improve yards themselves, learn how to plan and carry out calculations. The direction of financial literacy and work planning helped children to get career guidance and life skills in civil, concrete, installation, welding, painting, gardening works. They also mastered the technique of stitching, sewing on the sewing machine, working with beads, palettes and mosaics. Trainings in computer literacy generated the greatest interest in children. Children were taught AutoCAD, Photoshop, Coral draw, how to apply filters and convert photos into 3D objects, and to create certificates and diplomas.

The ‘New Life ’project was presented at the fair of NGO social projects and won 1st place.
