TCO Launches Corporate Responsibility Report

Tengizchevroil hosted a Round Table for representatives of Atyrau Oblast's non-governmental organizations (NGO) and mass media in its headquarters on May 15, 2009.


Mariya Karazhigitova, general manager, Government and Public Affairs department, debuted Tengizchevroil's recently released report entitled "Tengizchevroil: 15 Years of Leadership of Corporate Responsibility."


The report, issued as a booklet in three languages and designed for a wide, international audience, states the company's philosophy related to corporate responsibility. It also provides information on success in main key areas: corporate management and operational excellence, health, safety and environment protection, strategic development of personnel, TCO contribution to Kazakhstan economy and social programs in Atyrau Oblast.


Karazhigitova emphasized, "This report is a review of how we are fulfilling our commitments to stakeholders. Tengizchevroil has greatly contributed to its employees, contractors and the community with investments which are more than $450 million U.S. Dollars over our 15 years in operation. We are continuing to succeed in the environment protection area and nationalization, in supporting the social sector and infrastructure development. We are very proud of our achievements and hope that this publication would be of great interest to mass community."


The Round Table was an open dialogue in the course of which NGOs and mass media representatives asked numerous questions and received answers about TCO's work, objectives and plans.
