Tengiz is located on the 2.500 square kilometer (1.600 square mile) project license area which includes the super giant Tengiz field, and a smaller but sizable Korolev field and several exploratory prospects.

It was announced by Konilkosh Suyessinov, Deputy General Director of TCO, during the KAZENERGY Energy Week - the XVI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY.
On October 2–3, 2025, the XVI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY took place in Astana as part of Kazakhstan Energy Week – 2025. This large-scale event in the energy sector brought together more than 300 participants from 50 countries. This year’s theme was “The New Energy Order: Focus on Middle Powers”, which includes the Republic of Kazakhstan — a country with a unique geographical position and tremendous energy potential.
On August 25, the representatives of Atyrau Oblast Ecology Department visited Tengiz field. The department head, Askar Zhussupov and his colleagues have visited TCO’s key environmental facilities such as Tengiz Eco Center (TEC), Water Treatment and Water Recycling Facilities (WTF/WRF). They have also checked the operation of automated emission monitoring system (AEMS).
