In July 2016, TCO Partners announced approval for the final investment decision of the Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP), the next major expansion of the Tengiz oil field.
As part of FGP-WPMP project plans it is important for us to keep transparent two-way communication with our lenders. TCO is implementing a lender relations process to ensure that stakeholders will have ongoing opportunities to ask questions, comment and provide feedback.
Our focus is to keep an open dialogue with our lender base and timely respond on questions. In addition to the information found under the Company tab, we are happy to assist you with quick and reliable responses.
Tengizchevroil (TCO) hosted at its headquarters, a round table discussion organized by the KAZENERGY Association, on regulatory issues in the field of ecology in the oil and gas sector. It was attended by the Vice-Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RoK) Zhomart Aliyev, heads and specialists of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of oil and gas producing and oil and gas refining enterprises-members of the Association.
“I would like to thank all the organizers of this event. Our joint efforts will help us in our further work on improvement. I would like to note that the work of the round table is an ideal platform for constructive dialog,” said Vice-Minister Zhomart Aliyev.
Along with the discussion of topical issues, oil and gas companies shared their environmental achievements. For example, Tengizchevroil reduced the intensity of air emissions by 76% compared to 2000, which is the lowest level in the company's history. Tengizchevroil’s General Director, Kevin Lyon noted that “TCO will continue to place a high priority on the protection of people and the environment, and play its role in supporting Kazakhstan's strategies. We are ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources to support the implementation of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. By adhering to our environmental principles and TCO values, we strive to contribute to the overall efforts to create a sustainable future and further economic progress for the next generation.
As part of the roundtable, Vice Minister Zhomart Aliyev visited the Tengiz field, where he familiarized himself with the company's various main environmental facilities including the TengizEcoCenter (CHP), as well as water processing and reuse facilities (WRP and WWTP).
“The main purpose of our trip was, first of all, to exchange experience and get acquainted with the production activities of the largest companies in the oil and gas sector, as well as with the pace of introduction of new technical solutions and the level of implementation of environmental protection measures. We wanted our specialists to familiarize themselves with the production facilities in order to better understand each other in the future. I would like to note that quite a lot of work is being done in the environmental area and the companies we visited are environmentally responsible. And TCO is an example for its business partners and other companies to follow,” Vice Minister Zhomart Aliyev emphasized during his visit to the Tengiz field.
It should be noted that due to effective management practices at Tengiz, up to 51% of waste generated is recycled and reused. The water reuse rate is also one of the best in the industry, with 47% of water reused in the third quarter of 2024. TCO continues to implement water conservation measures by utilizing domestic wastewater and recycling and reusing it for industrial purposes.
Over the past two decades, TCO has been committed to environmental protection principles and effective management systems, continuing to make a significant contribution to nature conservation and sustainable development of the region.
