Tengizchevroil (TCO) took part in Digital Almaty Forum, which brought together not only Government officials of the SCO and EAEU countries, representatives of Governmental agencies and ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also large taxpayers of the country, leading experts and entrepreneurs to exchange experience and ideas aimed at shaping a new era of the digital industry in Kazakhstan.

- «Digital Almaty» is a unique platform where business representatives, international experts and the IT community get together. The ideas that have been developed in this forum find real solutions, - said Bagdat Mussin, the RoK Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry at the opening ceremony of the forum.

Throughout its 30-year history, TCO as an operator of Tengiz field which is technologically complex, has continued to actively introduce advanced technologies, contributing to development of digitalization in petroleum industry.

- At TCO, safety has always been and remains a top priority, and this principle applies, among other areas, to our approach to Digital transformation. In our program, we pay special attention to promoting safety culture focusing on solutions that improve safety of our employees and initiatives that help reduce the carbon footprint of the company, - Konilkosh Suyessinov, TCO Deputy General Director highlighted during his speech.

One of the innovations is launching of an electronic permit to work system (ePTW). This significantly reduced scope of paperwork and allowed the company to focus directly on the work, ensuring an understanding of safety requirements, availability and observance of protective

measures before the start of work. The electronic system has proven its effectiveness during the last turnaround. TCO Safely Completes 2023 Turnaround Ahead of Schedule (tengizchevroil.com)

- Being at our production sites, we are able to provide instant access to the available data via telephones or tablets. During the last turnaround of the Complex Technological Line-5 (KTL-5), we issued over 33,000 electronic work permits, which contributed to safe and timely completion of the scope, - noted Konilkosh Suyessinov.

The Digital Module of the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) attracted special attention from the forum participants. The IOCC uses the latest digital technologies and is the only facility of its kind in oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan. It combines management of all TCO plants into a single operating model, thus creating conditions for operational data exchange between groups for faster and more effective decision-making.

- The IOCC digital module of TCO transition to an integrated production operation model, increasing efficiency and prompt of decision-making throughout the value chain. This digital module is equipped with functionality for integrated planning and performance control, allowing us to choose optimal production solutions, improve transparency and communication, thereby providing final value by increasing economic performance, - shared Konilkosh Suyessinov.

Digital transformation at TCO, is being developed with a constant focus on safe production, workforce and process safety and environmental protection. One of the first digital products implemented at TCO was Intelligent Vehicle Safety project. As part of it, every vehicle operated by the company and contractors has been equipped with a fatigue recognition system. The system sends signals in case of detected fatigue or drowsiness. This has helped to drastically reduce the number of incidents.

During the forum, Konilkosh Suyessinov noted that people are the main component of TCO’s digital transformation. Every year, TCO organizes a “Digital Yurt”, in which employees not only learn, but also develop skills and apply them during an internal Hackathon designed to solve real business problems. Various hackathons are also held among the workforce.
