TCO management and subject matter experts and the Association of International Machine Building Center (IMBC) visited Shymkent in June 3-5, 2025. The visit was organized to promote cooperation with regional authorities and local factories and promote the growth of local production and localization.
On the first day of the visit, TCO and IMBC delegation visited exhibition of commodity producers in Shymkent and learned the products of local companies. During the negotiations, Birzhan Azimberdiyev, Head of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development Department of Shymkent, presented industrial and investment potential of the region. TCO Deputy General Director - Konilkosh Suyessinov, talked about the current procurement structure, supplier selection mechanisms and priority categories of goods and services for which the company is interested to localize.
The next day, TCO and IMBC specialists visited the key industrial sites in the region. These include Asia Trafo transformer equipment plant, HILL Corporation, a lubricant manufacturer, Karlskrona LC AB, a hydraulic equipment manufacturer, and Renaissance SHIK, an explosion-proof electrical equipment manufacturer. As a result of the visit, TCO representatives noted high level of technological equipment of individual companies.
“TCO is focused to assessment of production capacity and pays special attention to a systematic approach to quality, safety and transparency of processes. It is important that local companies are ready to adapt to international standards and are open to have a dialogue. This forms the basis for further potential cooperation,” said Konilkosh Suyessinov, TCO Deputy General Director.
The final day of the visit ended with signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the IMBC and Akimat of Shymkent, aimed at developing effective cooperation in machinery building for oil and gas industry.
“One of our key objectives is to support and develop local producers. This visit allowed us to verify readiness of the region in development of production base,” said Dastan Abishev, CEO of IMBC.
Representatives of TCO and IMBC noted high industrial potential of companies in Shymkent, availability of modern production facilities and desire to develop an export-oriented sector. An open and extensive dialogue between business, the operator and the government creates a solid foundation for sustainable cooperation.
The visit to Shymkent production sites is part of TCO aspirational plan to consistently inspect all regions of Kazakhstan and explore capabilities of local manufacturers. TCO is already working with companies from different regions, and thus, today, most of the regions of Kazakhstan are involved in a sphere of cooperation.
