On December 17, inclusive classrooms for children with special educational needs were opened in Kulsary. These rooms were equipped as part of a joint project between Tengizchevroil LLP and the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Corporate Foundation.

The first step of this project was the opening of rooms at School No.16 named after D. Zhazykbayev. On the allocated area of 56 square meters, up to 10 teachers can work simultaneously, and within one day they will be able to conduct classes for up to 40 children.

Deputy Akim of Zhylyoi region, Gulnafis Aishuakova, in her welcoming speech, emphasized the importance of such projects for the region: “Tengizchevroil has been supporting Zhylyoi region for many years, and I believe the opening of these classrooms will have a positive impact on the development of our children. Let there be more projects like this.”

The rooms were created based on an updated model of an original project in collaboration with experts and have already proven their effectiveness in other cities of Kazakhstan. An individualized approach for each school allows children to receive comprehensive support within their educational institution: sessions with a speech therapist, psychologist, and special education teacher, sensory and development support, as well as adaptive physical therapy.

“Tengizchevroil, as a socially responsible company, regularly supports the social development of Zhylyoi region, where our employees and their families live.  We pay special attention to developing the future generation and creating equal opportunities for everyone to receive high-quality education. Today, I am pleased to attend the opening of such an important project for our children’s education. I hope it will deliver excellent results in Kulsary and contribute to the development of our children,” noted the General Manager for Policy, Government and Public Affairs at Tengizchevroil LLP Nurmukhamed Kartabayev.

Overall, the project provides for the opening of inclusive classrooms and therapeutic exercises rooms in five schools in Kulsary: No. 16, No. 8, No. 7, No. 18 and No. 21. This initiative will cover 158 children with special educational needs and includes not only technical equipment but also year-long methodological support and teacher training, including the development of individual programs, professional development, and ongoing expert consultations. The project funding was equally shared between the partners, with each company contributing more than 75 million tenge.
