Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) has completed a project to transfer advanced medical equipment to the Atyrau Regional Cardiology Center. Launched in 2025, the initiative is aimed at supporting the healthcare system of the Atyrau Region. The total value of the donated equipment to the cardio center amounted to KZT 560 million.
The transfer of equipment contributes to strengthening the Center’s material and technical base, expanding its capabilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, and increasing access to hightech medical care for residents of the region. Among the delivered equipment is the EnSite X cardiac mapping and navigation system — a stateoftheart technology for threedimensional mapping of the heart’s electrical activity. It is used in leading cardiology centers worldwide to diagnose and treat complex cardiac arrhythmias. The equipment list also includes the S5 heartlung machine, a highly reliable system used during openheart surgeries and complex cardiac surgical procedures. In addition, the Center received a nitric oxide monitor, the WorkMate Claris electrophysiology system, and other specialized medical equipment.
The history of the institution dates to February 1951, when a multidisciplinary hospital was opened to provide medical care to workers of the Caspian oil and gas industry. It became popularly known as the “Oil Workers’ Hospital.” Today, a regional cardiology center operates on its basis and is one of the key specialized medical institutions in the region.
Over the past year, more than 4,200 patients received treatment at the Center, with 4,700 diagnostic procedures and 3,900 surgical interventions of varying complexity performed. Currently, the Center carries out surgeries on the aorta, carotid and coronary arteries, performs stent and valve implantations, installs pacemakers, conducts coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), angiography, and provides other types of advanced cardiac surgical care.
The new equipment has already enabled the introduction of advanced clinical techniques. In particular, the Center’s surgeons successfully performed mitral valve replacement and tricuspid valve repair under cardiopulmonary bypass. During the procedure, nitric oxide (NO) was used for the first time in the Center’s practice to reduce pulmonary hypertension, which helped stabilize the patient’s condition and improve the effectiveness of surgical treatment.
TCO policy, government and public affairs General manager Nurmukhammed Kartabayev noted: “By investing in the development of the healthcare system, we are investing in people’s wellbeing. Supporting regional medical institutions and introducing advanced technologies are part of our sustainable development strategy and our longterm partnership with the Atyrau Region.”
Since the end of 2025, TCO has donated medical equipment worth approximately KZT 4 billion to healthcare organizations in the Atyrau Region. The support covered a perinatal center, an oncology dispensary, city polyclinics, district hospitals in the Makhambet, Inder, and Issatay districts, as well as other specialized medical institutions in the region.
Head of the Atyrau Regional Healthcare Department Kaisar Abdaliev emphasized: “Cooperation with TCO makes it possible to consistently strengthen the material and technical base of the region’s medical organizations. Equipping them with modern equipment facilitates the introduction of new diagnostic and treatment methods and improves the quality of medical care provided to the population.”
A separate area of cooperation focused on modernizing the emergency medical service. At the end of 2025, the company donated 25 ambulances equipped with modern medical equipment to the region. This significantly renewed the vehicle fleet and improved response times to emergency calls both in the city and in remote settlements. In addition, TCO purchased medical equipment worth approximately KZT 18 million for the Zhylyoi District Central Hospital, including a Haemonetics PCS2 automated donor plasmapheresis system.
TCO’s social investments are implemented as part of its longterm sustainable development strategy. Since 1993, the company has invested more than USD 3.5 billion in social projects in the Atyrau Region aimed at developing healthcare, education, infrastructure, and supporting local communities.
