An open year‑end event was held in Kulsary, where partners of Tengizchevroil’s Community Investment Program (CIP) and representatives of non‑government organizations shared the results of their work carried out throughout 2025. It is also worth noting that the year 2025 marked a milestone for CIP, as it celebrated 15 years since its inception in 2010.
“It is important for us to highlight that each year an increasing number of non‑government organizations from the Zhylyoi region are participating in the Community Investment Program. At the same time, other non-government organizations are also seeking to establish their activities and implement projects in the region. We see growth and development of social initiatives and look forward to further constructive cooperation in implementing new projects in the interests of the local community,” said Gulnafis Aishuakova, Deputy Akim of Zhylyoi region.
Under the Program, NGOs independently propose projects, which are then funded by TCO. This year, the projects focus on healthcare, education, environmental protection, civil society development, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
In 2025, Qazaqiya Public Foundation became a first‑time participant in CIP with its Asyl Mura project. The project aims to preserve and promote Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage by passing on traditional knowledge and skills to youth and adults, while also enhancing social engagement and fostering a sense of national identity among participants. During the project, men were trained in constructing fully functional yurts and household furniture, while women mastered the art of weaving.
Zeyin‑Atyrau PF from Zhylyoi region continued its work with Qadam project, which is aimed at supporting women and their business initiatives. Last year, 50 women took part in the project, completing training in sewing, hairdressing, makeup, culinary skills, and computer literacy. In addition, the participants attended a motivation‑building training session and completed courses in socio‑economic development.
“Over the course of the Program’s implementation, together with NGOs, we have been able to build a strong and mature community that includes non‑government organizations, social leaders, and active residents. Today, we see people around the Program who are capable of taking responsibility and working toward long‑term results. One of the company’s objectives within CIP is not only to provide support to social partners, but also to help NGOs grow further and develop independently,” said Nurmukhamed Kartabayev, General Manager of Policy, Government and Public Affairs at Tengizchevroil, in his welcoming remarks.
In 2025, TCO also supported organizations and invested in the social infrastructure of the Zhylyoi region. For example, with TCO's financial support, 70 local pensioners received sanatorium resort treatment, providing meaningful support to their health and quality of life. Musical and recreational equipment was donated to the local branch of the Kazakh Society of the Blind, expanding opportunities for communication, creativity, and social inclusion.
Special equipment, including municipal and cleaning vehicles, was provided to the Akimat of Zhylyoi region to support public needs and improve the region’s infrastructure. Inclusive classrooms were opened in five of the region's schools in partnership with Samruk‑Kazyna Foundation. All implemented projects are aimed at improving the quality of life of the local population and supporting the region’s sustainable development.
