Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) is
actively implementing artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support employee
development and enhance the effectiveness of learning. The company implements
AI, data analysis, and digital technology programs that help employees learn
new competencies and apply modern solutions in their daily work.
Kamshat Baizhanova, General Manager of Human Resources Management, spoke about TCO’s approach to development of digital competencies at the PetroHR-2026 conference, where TCO was the general sponsor.

“Digital technologies and
artificial intelligence are becoming an important part of professional work,
complementing traditional technical expertise. Skills in working with data,
digital platforms, and AI tools are becoming increasingly valuable,” noted Kamshat Baizhanova.
At TCO, development of digital
competencies is integrated into the overall employee learning system alongside
technical training, mentoring programs, leadership development and safety. The
company implements a wide range of initiatives, including AI trainings, data
analytics courses, Prompt-marathons, Prompt Engineering workshops and
specialized digital learning programs.
According to Kamshat
Baizhanova, TCO is also expanding the use of AI tools for employees of various
functions and developing an environment in which employees can create their own
digital solutions for operational needs.
One example is the AI Learning
Assistant, developed internally for process plant operators. The tool combines
access to training and production resources through a single interface and
helps employees in the training process, knowledge verification and
professional development.
At the same time, the
development of digital skills does not reduce the importance of professional
expertise and leadership competencies. The company still has own programs for
development of technical specialists, mentoring, coaching and future leaders.
“Our objective extends
beyond traditional learning. We strive to create an environment where every
employee has opportunities for continuous development, value creation, and
realizing their full potential on a daily basis,” highlighted by Kamshat Baizhanova.
We believe that successful
digital transformation requires not only implementation of new technologies but
also the development of employees’ capabilities to effectively use modern tools
in solving operational challenges.
It is worth noting that, for the first half of 2026 year-to-date, 96% of the workforce are citizens of Kazakhstan. Developing their professional and digital competencies remains one of TCO’s key priorities.
