The 30th Anniversary Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference, KIOGE 2026, was held in Almaty, bringing together more than 500 companies from 58 countries and over 9,000 visitors. Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) traditionally served as the event’s General Sponsor.

Over the past three decades, KIOGE has grown into one of the industry’s leading platforms, bringing together representatives of government agencies, international energy companies, technology providers, and oil and gas industry experts to discuss key challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the energy sector.

This year’s discussions focused on digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence in the energy industry, improving operational efficiency, developing the next- generation workforce, and advancing sustainable development.

TCO General Director Billy Lacobie spoke about how the company is leveraging modern technologies to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

The company continues to advance its capabilities in data integration, analytics, and production process modeling while investing in the development of specialists with the skills and competencies needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological environment.

“Today, 96% of TCO’s workforce are Kazakhstani citizens, and 9 out of 10 managerial positions are held by Kazakhstani professionals. We continue to invest in the development of local suppliers, digital solutions, and human capital,” said TCO General Director Billy Lacobie.

Kazakhstani employees have been appointed to key technical and managerial positions previously held by expatriate personnel. Developing capabilities in digitalization and artificial intelligence remains an important priority as the industry continues its technological transformation.

As one of the country’s largest oil and gas projects, TCO continues to make a significant contribution to Kazakhstan’s socio-economic development. From 1993 through August 2026, TCO’s direct financial contribution to the Republic of Kazakhstan totaled US$220 billion, including more than US$53.3 billion directed toward the development of Kazakhstani content.
